CRX Road to Racing – Part 3 : Filling the garage

It was a new day and it was time to put some more work into the CRX project, of course i couldn't just leave the parts car in my driveway forever. The city would fine me for having "Junk cars" which is a perfect definition for this CRX. Because upon further inspection of the car we realized just how hard of a life it had lived. shattered glass, broken wires, virtually no rocker panels, torn seats, and oh so much rust. It sort of felt like a viking funeral tearing this car down it just seemed like the right thing to do.
It was time to liberate the parts we needed from this husk of a car. It started simple enough, post an ad of the interior on the local classifieds website and start removing parts from the interior. Within days I had sold the sunroof, fuel tank and the rear interior. I purchased an engine stand and a hoist to get the engine in and out of the car. and after some hard work we had stripped the car down to a shell.
The time had come to chop the car down and turn it in for scrap metal.  A reciprocating saw and some good metal blades had the car chopped up fairly quickly. then it was off to the scrap yard to get some cash for the car soup that we had stacked in the bed of my 4 cylinder GMC Sonoma. I ended up with a garage full of parts and $40 for scrap metal.
